A Grand-moth-er Story

Lately, Morgan has been telling me all these stories from many months ago and this one was particularly touching, from 7 months ago...

She said...
Mommy, I have to tell you something AMAZING!  Mommy, I was with Grandma, and I sat really, really still and the most AMAZING thing happened...Do you know what happened?  A moth landed on me!
She was so animated telling this story and I thought it was the most beautiful thing.  I remembered that I had a picture from that visit to the country house, when they were blowing bubbles on the porch.  I thought it was just so sweet, to hear her remembering a time spent with Grandma that she brought up completely on her own.  I told her that it was an AMAZING and beautiful story. :)

Crispy Heart, Soft Heart

Morgan was eating a bowl of Erewhon Gluten Free Crispy Brown Rice and she came running up to me and said, "Mommy, Mommy, this 'crispy' is shaped like a heart!"  Then, she showed it to me, gave me a sweet look and said, "I love you, Mommy," and she gave me a huge hug!  *heart melt*

At least she's honest...ish...

I was making cake balls, today, to try out a recipe for her upcoming birthday.  She wanted to have one with dinner and I told her I would put one on her plate, but she would have to eat all her dinner, FIRST, before she could eat it, to which she said:
"I always do what you tell me...Well, not really...Only because you're baking me something..."
Ha! At least she was being honest, in her own way...

I guess my work is done, here...

I wanted to have a little talk with Morgan about a fit she pitched last night, when she wanted milk in the middle of the night...

I started telling her about it and she walked away and I asked her to come back and she said, "I already know everything, Mommy..."

I thought to myself, "Ha, well, I guess my work is done, here..."

I told her, "OK, well, if you already know everything, then why don't you go ahead and tell me what I was going to say..."

She paused for a minute and blinked at me and said, "You were going to tell me a little more about what you were going to say..."

Uh, yeah, that's the ticket...

Sweet Pea

I was in the bathroom and trying to convince Morgan to go see her Daddy in the living room, so I could go to the bathroom, alone, but she didn't want to leave.  I said, "can't Mommy go potty by herself?" and she said, "but Mommy, I worry about you and I love you.  When I don't see you, I miss you."  I had to finish up, wash hands, and give her a big hug for being such a sweetie.  She was just so serious about not wanting to be away from me and I felt so bad for even asking her.  I know it's not the healthiest thing, but it was a very touching sentiment, nonetheless.

GrandMommy's Favorite Gift Ever

Copied from Facebook:
Morgan made this "drawing" for my mom, who cannot see, so she can feel the jewels...she placed the jewels all by herself! :) It's a picture of my mom's bird with an egg and a sparkly sky. My mom said it was the best present she ever received. *sniff* :)

Catch up!

I am behind on my posts!

Here are a couple of recent things I can remember:

Morgan has a favorite tune on Little Einsteins that she likes and she has been trying to get Greg to learn it for the longest time.  I was in the bathroom, drying my hair and I heard them in the living room and she was teaching it to him, again, and this time, he got it right.  She was saying, "YOU GOT IT RIGHT, DADDY!! YOU GOT IT! YOU GOT MY FAVORITE SONG RIGHT!"  She was so happy running around and came looking for me saying, "MOMMY, MOMMY! Daddy learned my favorite song!!"

When we were at Chuck E. Cheese's the other day, she looked like she was in a TV commercial, playing air hockey and she looked at me and said, "Playing at Chuck E. Cheese's is so much fun!  Oh, boy!"  (She does not watch TV, by the way, and has probably never seen a CEC commercial.  It was a genuine statement on her part - she just loves CEC and I thought it was funny. :)

I need to keep up, but she says so many things I day...maybe I should have done a twitter feed, instead. ;)
