You're Doing It!

I'm sure this is a pretty common thing for potty training toddlers to do, but when Morgan sees me going to the bathroom, she gets very excited and yells, "You're doing it, Mommy!  Good job!"

Sing-Song Voice

I was trying to get Morgan to put her cup in the sink, so we could go get her ready for bed, and I was singing, "Come on, let's go, let's go, little Morgan" and she sang right back at me, "I don't waaaaant toooooo" and gave me a big grin. :)

I'm on the phone!

I was trying to take care of some business on the telephone and Morgan was yelling, "WHO'S ON THE PHONE?" and being really loud, so I put the phone on mute and said, "Morgan, Mommy is on the phone and I cannot hear what they are saying, so you need to please be quiet!"  She said, "NO, I DON'T WANT TO BE QUIET!"  I went in the other room and finished the call.  I came back to the living room and Morgan asked for a cup of milk.  I went to the kitchen and poured some milk and she walked in with the toy phone up to her ear.  I said, "Here you go, do you want your milk?"  She said, "Wait, Mommy, I'm on the phone and you have to be QUIET!"  Touché, Morgan, touché...

What kind of Wheaties?

Morgan kept saying "Arco Wheeties" and I couldn't figure out what she was saying and then I realized she was trying to say "arcoiris" (ar-ko-ee-rees), which means "rainbow" in Spanish.  (From Dora the Explorer...)

Morgan Does Math!

On the way home from the park, Morgan is holding up her fingers and this is what she was saying...

"One plus one is two!"
"Two plus one is three!"
"Three plus one is four!"
"Four plus one is five!"

I asked her what 5 plus 5 was and she held up all her fingers and declared, "TEN!!"

I've been worrying about what kind of preschool (if any) to put her in, but now I'm thinking the focus should be on college! :O

A Valuable Lesson

We're in the car, on the way to the park, and Morgan is eating a piece of "corn loaf" (it's like bread, but allergen free).  She finished the piece and then said, "Oh no! I ate my corn loaf, and I want it back!"  I told her that she ate it and she said, "I want to HAVE it!" and I said, "You can't have your corn loaf, and eat it, too." It took me a second to realize what I had said.  Ha!

My Morganizer! (Morgan Organizer)

Morgan is now 2 1/2 and she says and does things all the time that I know I should be recording for posterity.  I can't seem to do a full-blown blog, these days, so I'll just come here and post quick quotes and anecdotes from life with Morgan.
