Wow!

She called for me to lie in bed with her last night. She sat up at just before 7:00 a.m. and said, "It's a constellation! It's the big dipper! There is a Big Dipper in the When I Grow Up book, just like on 'Little Bear'!"

Apparently, in her sleep she had a revelation and realized that the image on her Dora When I Grow Up page where they talk about Isa wanting to be an astronaut, is the same constellation that they show on an episode of "Little Bear".  The constellations are not identified in the Dora book, but they do talk about the names on the 'Little Bear' episode.  She totally blew my mind that she put that all together - in her sleep, even!

(I asked Greg if he had pointed out the connection between her book and the show's episode, but he had not and my dad doesn't even have that Dora book, so she did it all by herself!)

Good luck with that...

I was trying to put Morgan's lotions and medicines on, after bath and she was wearing footed pajamas that zipped up in the front. They were unzipped and I was trying to get her to be still so I could put some medicine on her belly. She kept saying no and running off. I called her, again, to come back to me and told her that I needed to put the medicine on her belly and she looked at me, zipped up her jammies, said, "GOOD LUCK!" and turned and ran off to the living room. I couldn't help but crack up!

Don't sing!

Morgan and I had a "Who's on First" moment the other night...

Morgan: Sing "Hush Little Baby"
Me: OK...Hush little baby don't say a word, Momma's gonna buy you a mockingbird. If that mockingbird won't sing...
Morgan: DON'T sing!
Me: Oh, OK. (quiet)
Morgan: MOMMY!! Sing the song!
Me: Hush little baby don't say a word, Momma's gonna buy you a mockingbird. If that mockingbird won't sing...
Morgan: DON'T sing, Mommy, DON'T sing...
Me: But you just told me to sing!
Morgan: What?
Me: You keep telling me "don't sing, don't sing"
Morgan: It's not WON'T sing, it's DON'T sing!
Me: Ohhhhhh, THAT's what you meant!
Me: Hush little baby don't say a word, Momma's gonna buy you a mockingbird. If that mockingbird DON'T sing...

Zillow on my pillow

In the Dr. Seuss book, "Wocket in my Pocket", there's a part that reads, "and the Zillow on my pillow always helps me fall asleep". Greg was reading the book to Morgan and when he read that part, she said, "the Mommy on my pillow always helps me fall asleep". *sniff* *tear* :)

Little Sweetie

Morgan has been such a sweetie, tonight!

I took her outside to see the moon and she said, "Mommy, how can I get up to the sky? I wish I could go up to the sky and get a star and then I would give it to you as a present." *sniff*

Morgan set up two pillows and two blankets on the floor and she said she set up a "sleepover" for us. I was on the floor with her and she looked over at me, patted me on the head and said, "You're nice. I like you a lot." *double sniff*

We were getting ready for bed, and normally I have to chase her all over the world to get her to get on the bed for pajamas. Tonight, she lay right down on the bed and said, "I'm laying down for my pajamas!" I said, "Wow!" and she said, "I'm being such a good listener!"

Mommy/Daddy Monitor

I was telling Morgan that I could see her on the "baby monitor", and I could watch her and make sure that she was OK, and she said, "I want a Mommy & Daddy monitor, so that I can see if you and Daddy are OK." Awww...

I believe the proper term is...

Morgan was pitching quite a fit last night, over nothing, and I told her that she needed to stop pitching a fit, because she was making her nose all snotty. She said, "huh?" and I said, "please stop pitching a fit", and she said, "GrandDaddy calls it 'pitching a hissy'" I started cracking up and then she started laughing.
